She believes that therapy should not feel separate from everyday life—it should enhance it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions parents ask us most
-
Strides Therapies is an out-of-network provider, which means you pay us directly. We give you a superbill (a detailed receipt with the codes your insurance company needs), which you can submit to your plan for possible reimbursement. We'll go over pricing on your first call, before anything is scheduled.
-
Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask:
Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient occupational therapy?
What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met this year?
Once my deductible is met, what percentage of the cost do you reimburse?
Is there a limit on the number of OT visits per year?
Do I need a doctor's referral or prescription to be reimbursed?
How do I submit a superbill, and how long does reimbursement usually take?
Write down the representative's name and a reference number for the call. If anything is unclear, call us and we'll help you make sense of it.
-
In most cases, yes. Occupational therapy is usually an eligible expense. Check with your plan administrator to confirm.
-
It's play-based, so most kids just think they're playing. Shannon watches how your child moves, plays and handles everyday tasks, uses standardized assessments where helpful, and gathers input from you and, when relevant, your child's teacher. You'll get a summary of what she found and recommended goals.
-
Active and hands-on: obstacle courses, fine motor games, sensory activities, handwriting practice and real-life routines, all matched to your child's goals. We wrap up with a few strategies to use during the week.
-
Not to get started. Some insurance plans require one for reimbursement, so ask your plan.

In your home, or on campus at your child's school with the school's approval. We don't have a clinic, so we come to you.
